I'm Lucius. I build websites for small food businesses in Singapore.
I'm 23. I learned to build websites in polytechnic, in a digital design and development diploma. I'm finishing a bachelor's in business management now, so Kopi & Code runs in my free time. Mostly at night.
The food part goes back a long way. After school, my grandmother would buy my lunch from the mixed rice stall. Always ta-pau. I never once ate in. I loved it anyway.
So why food businesses? Every agency will tell you a nice story here. Mine is simpler. Food businesses need the simplest kind of website. A menu you can read on your phone. Opening hours that are correct. A map. A WhatsApp button. No online store. No booking system. No big catalogue. I can build that well, by myself, and charge a fair price. The love is real. I grew up on this food. But the decision was business first. I'd rather tell you that than sell you a story.
A build looks like this. I study your shop before I touch anything. What you sell. How people search for you. What your signboard says. Then I draft, I code, and I keep improving it until the website looks the way your shop deserves. Most of that happens late at night, at a desk in Jurong West.
Why the sites are simple.
Most websites sold to small businesses are heavy, slow, and built on software that charges monthly forever. Yours won't be. I build sites that are basically just pages — fast on a cheap phone, cheap to keep online, and not dependent on anything that can stop working when a subscription lapses.
Why I don't sell monthly packages.
Because you shouldn't need one, and because a retainer only makes sense if I can actually service it. I'd rather charge you once, hand you everything, and have you not need me.

If your restaurant already runs one — an ordering page, a reservation system — I'll wire it into your site properly, free. If you need one set up from scratch, I'll point you to a grant-approved vendor who'll do it subsidised — the government covers most of it, and I'd rather you got that deal.
But maybe you still want me to build it. Can. WhatsApp me and tell me what you need. If I take it on, you get one fixed price before I start. Same as everything else. And if the vendor deal is better for you, I'll still say so.
